Old heart, new soul - Not Just Gin's Renovation

From a 1970’s Rice Beaufort horse trailer to premium mobile gin bar – an incredible transformation to be proud of.

Our treasured horse trailer, Lady Belle, was first discovered in 2017 and restored to her former glory by Not Just Gin’s previous owners in Buckinghamshire. Her journey did not stop there though. Little did she know that her full potential was yet to come, and that her rustic exterior had even more to give.

Lady Belle is more than just horsebox, she is a fully functioning mobile bar that still has all her wonderful original quirky features, but has been modified to include three serving hatches, two stylish ramps and beautifully crafted wooden bars inside. The main bar has all the necessary amenities including running hot and cold water, a double fridge and separate freezer and is fully insured to cater for any event.

Since relocating to East Sussex in 2020, Lady Belle has had some serious TLC, and is looking more fabulous than ever! Both her ramps have had a refresh, and now feature stylish artificial grass and brand new hardwood slats, which even light up at night! Her exterior has been given a fresh lick of paint, and her wheels now have the addition of shiny silver chrome hub caps.

Lady Belle’s stunning new exterior would not be possible without the hard work of local carpenter, Ollie Strickland. Ollie’s incredible carpentry skills were put to the test when refurbishing both of the ramps on the horsebox.

However several days (and cups of coffee) later, Ollie’s hard work certainly paid off! Not Just Gin is looking better than ever, and it was the renovation Lady Belle really needed. Thank you Ollie for all your hard work and persistence with this challenging and unique renovation!

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lady Belle has also recently had clear Perspex screens installed onto each of her serving hatches to ensure the safety of her staff and, most importantly, her customers.

To complement this new addition, her hatches have also been updated, and now feature a blackboard design – the rear hatch details the bar’s price list, and the side hatch is fully customisable for each event.

This creative addition would not be possible without the artistic skills or our talented designer, Alice Kennedy-Owen. Alice has a keen eye for detail, and looks after the Not Just Gin’s digital designs too. Thank you Alice for all the beautiful designs you have produced so far, and I look forward to the creativity that is yet to come!
